William H. "Jake" Jacobson
William Henry Patrick “Jake” Jacobson, 82, of Port Huron, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 26, 2017.
Jake was born on May 1, 1935 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to the late Joseph and Julia Jacobson. He married Theresa E. “Terri” Tomlinson on January 23, 1976 in Port Huron.
After moving to Port Huron he attended St. Stephen Catholic School and graduated from Port Huron High School in 1953.
“Jake” was a hardworking man his whole life. He retired from Port Huron Paper Company in 2001, after 48 years of employment, and remained active in the things that brought him joy.
He was a member and usher at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church, a ranger at Four Lakes, a member of the FOP Lodge 129, secretary of the Domtar Golf League, and was a member of the Port Huron High School Alumni. He enjoyed cheering on his beloved New York Yankees and spending time with his family and friends. No one told a better story or joke, and he loved it most when people had fun. He was a faithful servant to his God and a loving man to his family and friends. His life brought us all a great love and happiness.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Theresa “Terri”; his children Cindy (Dr. David) Bolla, Mark (Sandy) Jacobson, Kim Meek, Carla (Chris) Schultz, Fred Kuhr, Jody Grygorcewicz, all of Port Huron, and Nancy (Sidney) LeBoeuf of Garysville, Louisiana; two sisters, Barbara Palmer of Port Huron and Rosemarie (Chris) Fielding of Livonia; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and sisters-in-law. “Jaker” was preceded in death by his five siblings, John, George, Thomas, Francis and Mary Catherine; and also a grandson Corey Kuhr
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.in the funeral home.
Mr. Jacobson will lie in state at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 10 a.m.until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo and The Reverend George Askar will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery Columbarium.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to Jake’s hospice nurse, Tammy Bricker from Season’s Hospice, for all the special care and love she gave him.
