Ethyl M. Avery, 86, of Jeddo, died Friday, April 30, 2010 in Regency On The Lake following a short illness.



She was born July 29, 1923 in Flint and has lived here most of her life.



She married Ray L. Avery. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1998.



Ethyl retired from Mary Maxim after 30 years and was a life member of the Order of The Eastern Star. She loved drawing and taking care of her 7 flower beds. She enjoyed sewing, needlework and doing crafts.



She is survived by her daughter, Patricia R. (Patrick) Norton of Jeddo; granddaughter, Jackie MacDonald of Port Huron; great-grandsons, Avery and Nolan MacDonald of Port Huron; extended grandchildren, Adam (Danielle) Course, Mandy Course and Carmella (Greg) Falecki; extended great-grandchildren, Lyndsay Course and Daniel, Jeffrey and Joseph Falecki; brother, Ellwyn (MonaDean) Currie of Port Huron; many nieces, nephews and best friends Jean Emeigh of Port Huron and Inadel Norton of Jeddo.



She was preceded in death by infant son, Ray Jr., brother, Robert Currie and sisters, Bette Lewis and Audrey Currie.



Funeral services are 11 am Wednesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Doerzbacher will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Yale.



Visiting hours are 2-8 pm Tuesday and 10-11am Wednesday in the funeral home.



Memorials may be given to The Charity of The Donor's Choice.
