Nancy L. Ticknor
April 2nd, 1937 to May 15th, 2010
Nancy Langs Ticknor was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 15, 2010 after a 40 year battle with scleroderma.
Nancy Lou Langs was born in April of 1937 in her grandmothers house on Elk Street. She was the second of four daughters of Frederick Langs and Betty Anderson Langs. Nancy graduated with the January 1955 class of Port Huron High School. She then attended Port Huron Junior College and Eastern Michigan University graduating with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education and Library Science. Nancy was a teacher and librarian in the Port Huron Area Schools for many years.
Nancy married Jerome R. Ticknor in Lakeport in August, 1958.
She is survived by her husband Jerome, two daughters, Terri Ticknor (Richard) Gilbert of Ann Arbor, MI, and Rebecca L. (Paul) Laupichler of Yale, MI and four grandchildren, Jason Gilbert and Elizabeth Gilbert of Ann Arbor, MI and Benjamin Laupichler and Ethan Laupichler of Yale, MI
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm at the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home in Port Huron, MI. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10am at Lakeshore Presbyterian Church. Dr. William N. Wingrove officiating. There will be a brief visitation beginning at 9:30am at Lakeshore Presbyterian church prior to the funeral service. Internment will be at the Ruby Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Lakeshore Presbyterian Church.
