James G. Condland
James Gary Condland, 74, of Fort Gratiot, passed on Sunday, November 26, 2017.
He was born September 2, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Edwin and Pauline Condland. He married Nora Neruda on December 1988 at the Victorian Inn in Port Huron.
James was a project engineer and trouble shooter at the Detroit Edison - St. Clair Power Plant, retiring after 27 years of dedicated service.
He was a mentor to many people, whom he stayed in close contact with over the years. His family, friends and colleagues were very important to him.
James had a love for the water and was an avid sailor. Jim and his wife worked as a team creating many works of art that line the walls at the Lake Huron Medical Center. Together, their goal was to provide a peaceful and tranquil setting for patients, visitors and staff.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Neruda-Condland; his son, Matthew (Kellyann) Condland; his four grandchildren, Jeffrey O’Neil, Christopher Condland, Stephanie Condland, and Andrew Clouse; his son-in-law, Lance Clouse; his sister, Mary Ann Johnston; his three nephews, Terry Johnston, Joseph Condland and Michael Condland; and many members of the Senyk family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Condland; his brother, Ted Condland and his mother-in-law, Sydney Spofford.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Chaplain Marilyn Moncrief of Lake Huron Medical Center will officiate.
