Loretta F Fiedler
Loretta F. Fiedler, 93, of Port Huron, died Friday, December 22, 2017.
She was born November 7, 1924 in Port Huron to the late Wendlen “William” and Anna Moser. She married Joseph J. Fiedler on November 22, 1947 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1994.
Loretta was a graduate of St. Stephen Catholic High School. She was employed at London’s Dairy prior to raising her family. Once her children were older, she returned to work at Sperry’s Department Store and then People’s Bank. She was a child of the depression era and remained frugal throughout her life. Loretta watched her brothers serve during World War II and later married a veteran of the same war. She enjoyed sewing, baking, knitting, crocheting, bowling and was active in a bridge club for several years.
She is survived by her children, Joseph J. (Phyllis) Fiedler II, Sandy Fiedler, Elaina Fiedler and Lynn Ward; grandchildren, Molly Fiedler, Andrew Fiedler, Veronica Ward, Bradley Ward, Jayme Fiedler and Stella Fiedler; sister, Ann Macklem; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Katie Hummel, Mary McCormick, Charlie Moser, Wilfred Moser, Edward Moser, Harriett Pond, Joseph Moser and Louis Moser.
Instead of an extended visitation, to best honor their mother and grandmother, Loretta’s family would like you to enjoy this holiday season with your families.
Loretta will lie in state from 9:30 am Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. The Very Reverend Salvatore Palazzolo, K.H.S. will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
