Melvin L Maxon

Melvin L. Maxon, 83, of Port Huron, died Sunday, March 25, 2018.

He was born May 10, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Glenford and Lucille Maxon. He married Beverly A. Morden on May 10, 1952 in Indiana. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2015.

Melvin was employed with the City of Port Huron for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his four children, Carol (Art) Garcia, Jan (Benny) Birtles, Loren (Tammy) Maxon and Rodney (Lizz) Maxon; eleven grandchildren; and 19 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ken Maxon.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, with visitation from 4 p.m. until the time of service. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Michigan Alzheimer’s Association.
