Thomas E. Snow, 74, of Port Huron, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 unexpectedly in Port Huron Hospital.
He was born April 3, 1936 in Detroit and has lived in Port Huron all his life.
He married the love of his life Elizabeth I. Paajanen on July 8, 1985 in Christmas, Michigan.
Tom retired from G.T.W.R.R. After 41 years of service. He was a loyal University of Michigan football fan. He enjoyed bird watching, gardening and feeding the animals. He was a devoted husband who loved shopping for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth I. Snow of Port Huron; daughter, Janet M. (David) Driggers of Port Huron; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Beth (Allen) Lloyd, Sr of Port Huron; grandchildren, Neal (Rose) Zimmer, Jouhn Paul Zimmer, Steven (Kariemarie) Tollander, Annajean Zimmer, Sarah Jane Zimmer, Ryan Baier, Breanna Driggers, Kelli Driggers; several great-grandchildren; aunts, Carmen Morris and Vernita Sari, both of Marysville; brothers-in-law, Donald B. (Jean) Paajanen of Christmas, MI, James E. (Barbara) Paajanen of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Cathrine J. (James) Light of St. Clair and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mamie and Dean Whittaker.
Funeral services will be 10 am Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Major Philip W. Davisson, Corps Officer of the Port Huron Citadel will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 5-8 pm Sunday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army or the St. Clair County Humane Society.
