John P Thomas
John Philip Thomas, 82, of Marysville, died Thursday, April 12, 2018.
He was born August 30, 1935 in Marine City to the late Francis Frederick and Teresa Thomas.
John was a 1954 graduate of Port Huron High School and served in the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carrie Jo Thomas; his two children, Susan (Keith) Radzom and Mark (Jacqueline) Haas; four grandchildren, Ian (fiancé Emilee), Steven, Matthew, and Lindsay (Kevin); his three great-grandsons, Eli, Jackson and Kaleb; his sister, Barb Pennell; his nine nephews, Ron (Janice) Pennell, James (Chris) Thomas, Eric Thomas, Roy Williams, Dr. Kevin (Becca) Portteus, Thomas (Miranda) Portteus, John (Sheri) Krauss, Robert (Roxanne) Krauss and Mike Krauss; his four nieces, Angela (Scott) Riddell, Teresa (Lee) Hershman and Jeanne (Eric) Scott and Julie (Chris) Hough; his sister-in-law, Carol Thomas; two brothers-in-law, David Krauss and Andre (Cynthia) Portteus; 20 great nieces and nephews; many cousins; and special friends, Fran Conley, Robert Boyd, Tim Haynes, Dave and Gloria Winfield, Mary Jo Edson, Sue Sagins, Vicki Trotter and Mark Biggers, and Brenda and Matthew Crane. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Jerry Thomas; and two sisters, Mary Krauss and Ann Boden.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Holy Trinity Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Brian Cokonougher will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Allied Veterans Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Old Newsboys of Port Huron.
