Earl Creighton
Earl George Creighton, 78, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday, April 15, 2018, while under hospice care.
He was born on March 3, 1940 to the late Erwell and Sarah Creighton. He married Diane (Artman) Phillips on April 18, 1991. Together they made homes in Michigan, Kansas, Ohio and Florida. Earl grew up in Ferndale, before joining the U.S. Navy in 1959, serving aboard the USS Independence until 1962.
His career began at Seaboard Finance and ended as Chase Brass’ Credit and Risk Manager. He was mentored there by Martin Alonzo, who he deeply respected for his business acumen.
Earl was an avid reader of history and military books and loved talking about both.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; his daughter, Leah Middleton (Bob Crewette); his twin grandsons, Kyle and Nathan Wilkowski; his brother, James (Joanne) Purdon; and several nieces and nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Thomas Purdon.
He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Allied Veterans Cemetery.
