Gary L. Belyea
Gary Lee Belyea, 67, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018.
He was born November 29, 1950 in Port Huron to the late John and Jean Belyea. He married Donna M. Schneider on June 21, 1974, in St. Clair.
He was a 1971 graduate or Port Huron High School. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Constellation during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a blacksmith at Grand Trunk Western Railroad and was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. He was a volunteer with the Clyde Township Fire Department until an injury December 21, 1994 and was active in the Citizen Emergency Response Team.
He enjoyed going to car shows with his friend, John Lofquist, and especially showing off his Chevy truck that was wheelchair accessible. He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Belyea; three sons, Kevin (Allison) Belyea, Keith (Leslie) Belyea and Craig (Stephanie) Belyea; nine grandchildren, Alex Reid, Jack A. Belyea, Claire Belyea, Ella Kimmel, Drake Kimmel, Chloe Belyea, Tyler Belyea, Adam Belyea and Samantha Belyea; five siblings, Jack (Mary) Belyea, Jacki (Larry) Kuhnert, Pam Wilkens, Kathy (Ed) Alexander and Debbie Smith; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Belyea.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Deacon John Connors will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
Memorials may be made to Clyde Township Firefighter's Association.
