Joseph A Pietrowski
Joseph A. Pietrowski, 87, of Port Huron, died Thursday, July 12, 2018.
He was born January 23, 1931 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to the late Hipolit and Anna Pietrowski. He married Kathleen A. Gibbons-Fox on April 24, 1976 in Port Huron.
Joseph served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from St. Michael’s College in Coldchester, Vermont and Ioana College in New York.
He was formerly employed at the Diamond Crystal Salt Company and Akzo Salt Company. He was a member of the American Marketing Association, and served on the board for Port Huron Hockey and was past president of Port Huron Northern Booster Club. He attended St. Mary Catholic Church. The most important thing in Joseph’s life was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen A.; five children, Heather (Eric) Lindquist, Keri (Kirk) Piepenbrink, Rich (Angie) Fox, Jeff (Heather) Pietrowski and Steve (Kelly) Fox; eleven grandchildren, Shantae (Ben), Kyle, Dylan, Caiden, Olivia, Camron, Kati, Morgan, Alec, Josh and Jacob; great-grandson, Everett; his brother, Anthony (Christine) Pietrowski; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Ed Meon.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
A Memorial Mass will held be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend Joseph A. Gagnon will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary Church or Blue Water Hospice.
