Port Huron- Lucille E. Thomas, 99, of Port Huron died Monday, October 25, 2010 in Barss A.F.C. Home.
She was born July 2, 1911 in Tyre, Michigan, Sanilac County and has lived here all her life.
She married George L. Thomas on April 19, 1932 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1993.
Lucille worked for Diana's Sweet Shop in her early years, but for most her life she was a homemaker and family caregiver for her in laws. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, puzzles and was an excellent cook.
She is survived by several devoted nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Stella (Morell) Karl and brother, Dan Karl.
Mass of Resurrection will be 11 am Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 10:30 am Wednesday at the church.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all Aunties caregivers at Barss, Blue Water Hospice and to her nephew, Robert T. Abdoo, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2005.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or Blue Water Hospice.
