Edward L. Papineau
Edward Lester Papineau, 89, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
He was born November 22, 1928 in Port Huron, to the late Enos and Mattie Papineau. He married Madeline Ernst on October 3, 1951. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2011.
Edward served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed with Detroit Edison, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and loved photography and woodworking.
He is survived by his son, Edward “Mick” Papineau II; and his two grandchildren, Edward Papineau III and Piper Colleen Papineau; his sister, Betty Clark; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold, Hank, Jim, Dorothy and Virginia.
Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Mr. Papineau will lie in state on Monday, September 17, 2018 in St. Mary Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
