Edward Troy
Edward J. “Butch” Troy Jr., 80, of Port Huron, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born October 18, 1938 in Port Huron to the late Edward J. Troy Sr. and Velma Troy. Butch married Ann Draper on June 23, 1962 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Port Huron.
He graduated from St. Stephen Catholic High School in 1957 and served two years (1958-1960) in the U.S. Army in Berlin. He worked many years in the printing trades and retired from the Port Huron Area School District.
He enjoyed sailing with Matt, St. Patrick’s Day and many trips to Ireland. He loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends and watching college football, especially Notre Dame and Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; three children, Terrence “Terry” Troy, Sara Tait (Todd May) and Matthew “Matt” Troy; his siblings, and Bob (Pat) Troy, Dick (Jane) Troy, Joan (John) Currie, Jim (Teresa) Troy, Margaret Bush, Mary (Kim) Higenbothm; sister-in-law, Lynn Troy; three grandchildren, Casey (Travis) Kritzman, Erin Tait (Austin Woodruff) and Jason (Brooke) Troy, in-laws, Mary Gosger, Dan (Jan) Draper; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and David (Lenore) Troy.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m on Friday, January 4, 2019 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Community Enterprises of St. Clair County or Hunter Hospitality House.
