Buck Glombowski
Frank Bernard “Buck” Glombowski, Jr., 95, of Marysville, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
He was born June 12, 1923 in Port Huron to the late Frank B. and Hilda M. Glombowski, Sr. He married Betty J. Armitage on February 15, 1947 in St. Joseph Rectory, Port Huron. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2014.
Frank was a 1941 graduate of St. Stephen Catholic High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy November 5, 1942 and served aboard the U.S.S. Boston and the U.S.S. Franks for three years and three months.
He was employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Company, retiring December 7, 1979. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marysville Golf Course and American Legion Charles Hammond Post #8.
He is survived by his two children, Patricia Cook and Chuck (Debbie) Glombowski; four grandchildren, Donald (Jennifer) Fleming, Jr., Shawn (Julie) Fleming, Shaleene (Damien) Mayo and Joel (Kayla) Glombowski; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Carol Hartman. He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Tony Marsh; his brother, James Glombowski; and his sister, Mary Jane VanNorman.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation from 12 noon until the time of service. Deacon Tim Maxwell will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
