David A. Vernocke

September 1st, 1947 to January 6th, 2011
David A. Vernocke, 63, of Jeddo, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Medilodge of Port Huron following a long illness.

He was born September 1, 1947 in Port Huron and has been a life long area resident.

David was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. He was employed for 30 years at Wirtz Manufacturing from where he retired. He was an active member of the Gleason Butler Sharpe VFW Post #5585, Emmett and enjoyed tinkering in his work shop.

He is survived by sons, Derek A. Vernocke of Port Huron and Sean M. Vernocke of Jeddo; granddaughter, Adrianna and brother, Daniel Buck (Tina) Vernocke of Clyde.

He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Jean (Fraser) Vernocke.

Funeral services will be 12 pm Monday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald R. Doerzbacher will officiate. Military honors will follow under auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

Visiting hours are 11am -2pm and 5-8 pm Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Gleason Butler Sharpe VFW Post #5585 Emmett.
