Burtchville- Glen J. Kolar, 81, of Burtchville Township, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in Port Huron Hospital.
He was born November 4, 1929 in Croswell in the home of his familys farm.
He married Carol Gragowski on August 9, 1952. She preceded him in death on November 13, 1992.
Glen retired from Port Huron Paper as a maintenance/instrument worker. He was an avid hobbyist and enjoyed remote control airplanes/boats, operating his ham radio, woodworking including construction and repair of musical instruments, photography and gardening. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Masons.
He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Kolar of Delaware; daughter, Pamela (Stephen) Gilbert of Fort Gratiot; daughter, Patricia (Gary) Scheffler of Port Huron; son, Dennis (Sally) Kolar of Ft. Gratiot; grandchildren, Joshua, Katherine, Nicole, Alexa, Brienne, Kyle, Rachel & Ellie; great-grandchildren, Mia, Jayden, Jaxen & Alice.
A Memorial Mass will be 1 pm Saturday in St. Edward On-The-Lake Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph M. Esper will officiate.
Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9pm Friday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
