Karen J Himmel

Karen Jean Himmel, 82, of Port Huron, died Thursday, August 15, 2019.

She was born February 28, 1937 in Grass Valley, California to the late Eugene and Katherine Tucker. She married David Himmel on January 20, 1973 in Bowie, Maryland. He died October 8, 2002.

Mrs. Himmel was a school teacher for several years. She was an artist who enjoyed doing pet portraits and a writer who published a children's book, "Do Teachers Wear Pajamas?" She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish.

She is survived by two children, Max D. Himmel and Mary E. (Ben) Swinson; a grandson, David Owen; two sisters, Mary Coe and Ann Harris; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Leo Himmel.

Services will be held at a later date.
