Frederick M. Allen, 61, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in Port Huron Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was born January 12, 1950 in Port Huron. He married Mi Kyong Sin on October 5, 1979 in Louisana.
Fred retired from the U.S. Army. He was very proud to serve his country by making the Army his career. He spent several tours in Vietnam. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his wife, Mi Kyong Allen; children, Sherry (Steve) Chapdelaine, Jean Allen (Tony), Frederick (Angel) Allen Jr, Carol Allen and Julia Allen; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Francis Allen (Margaret), Nancy Stokely, Carol Wimert, John (Karen) O'Connor, Judy Allen, Kelly (Vinnie) Juliano, Michele Palazzolo, Gloria (John) Palazzola, Michael Allen and Brianna (Teresito) Torres; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick S. Allen and Eldora J. Gragowski.
Mass of Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephens Church. The Rev. Brian K. Cokonougher will officiate. Military rites will be under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans.
Visiting hours are 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A scripture service service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.
