Waneta M. Reckker, 81. of Ruby, died June 5, 2011 in Marwood Nursing & Rehab.
She was born October 22, 1929 in Yale and has lived here all her life.
Waneta married John F. Reckker on January 15, 1963 in Port Huron Township.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved camping and playing bingo.
She is survived by her husband John F. Reckker of Ruby; son, Leo (Darlene) Reckker of Kremmling, CO; daughter Geraldine Reckker and Ron Dortmann of Port Huron; son, Gerald Reckker of Marlette; daughter, Waneta (Nate) Schrader of Capac; son, John (Tina) Reckker, Jr of Ruby; daughter, Stacy Bedner of Port Huron;15 grandchildren 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen Hunter of Lewiston, brother, Richard (Marie) Roberts of Port Huron and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert; daughter Laura and 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Robert Wynkoop chaplain of A-1 Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow in Ruby Cemetery.
Visiting hours are 6-8 pm Wednesday and 9am until service time on Thursday.
Memorials may be given to A-1 Hospice.
