Dennis P. Smith

Fort Gratiot- Dennis P. Smith, 57, of Ft. Gratiot, MI (formerly of Clark, NJ) went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 15, 2011. He was born September 22, 1953 in Charleston, WV. He was an employee of Pathmark for over 30 years and active in Alcoholics Anonymous. He loved animals and enjoyed going to the movies. He is survived by his daughter Melanie (Patrick) Schindler, granddaughters Emma and Audrey Schindler (all of East China, MI) his brothers Robert, Kevin (Judy), and Terry, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cats Mary and Sis. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Mary, two brothers William and Brian, and a niece Jennifer. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday July 16, 2011 at 11:00 am at the St. John The Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Linden, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Humane Society and PETA.
