Charles Haywood
September 16th, 1926 to July 19th, 2011
Charles Haywood, 84, passed away Tuesday, July 19 unexpectedly. He was born on September 16, 1926 in Sarnia, Ontario.
He married Patricia Ann (GilMartin) of Port Huron, MI on September 20, 1947. In his teen years he achieved expert marksmanship with the Sarnia Gun Club, winning over 200 events throughout Canada.
During his marriage he devoted his life to his family, both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Charlie loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting were his passion. He also enjoyed bowling, golf and was involved with Little League.
He was employed for 30 years at Prestolight in Sarnia until it closed. After a brief retirement he re-entered the work force working at Areo Carbide and Sears.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Ann (GilMartin) Haywood, grandson Jason Paul Haywood, son-in-law David Renshaw. He will be accepted into God's Kingdom and sadly missed.
He is survived by his sons Charles Edward (Kathy) Haywood III of Escondido, CA, Timothy John (Tammy) of Coco, FL, Christopher William (Brenda) Haywood of Port Huron; daughters Gayle Elaine (Lanny) Boddy of Escondido, CA, Maxin Elizabeth Renshaw of Fort Gratiot; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Maxine McLaughlin of Point Edward Sarnia, Ontario, brother Douglas (Agnus) Haywood of Sarnia, Ontario and 20 adopted neighborhood kids.
Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
