James L. Overholt, 53, of Port Huron died August 13, 2011.
He was born July 14, 1958 in Port Huron and was a life long resident.
James was employed with Mueller Brass and then Domtar Paper Inc. He was kind, generous and thoughtful, living life to the fullest on his three Harleys. He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the St. Clair River for fishing and swimming. He found peace and serenity at his cabin in Bliss, Michigan. He loved traveling and his dogs Barney, Bear, Amos and now his “Rosie Girl” who will miss him greatly.
James is survived by his wife of 30 years Lori A. Overholt; son Brandon (Heather) Szyska; daughter Autumn (Jason) Webster; grandchildren Hannah and Trent Szyska, James Webster; sisters Elaine (Ron) Falk, Mary Jane (Don) Mellendorf, Marsha (Bob) Barnes; brother Eric (Marilyn) Overholt and many other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Emerson and Eleanor Overholt and brothers Gary and Randy Overholt.
Memorial services will be 1 pm Thursday, August 18, 2011 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Pastor Stan Liechty of Colonial Woods Missionary Church will officiate.
Visiting will be 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in the funeral home.
Memorials for James may be made to the Blue Water Hospice.
