Betty McEachern

May 8th, 1926 to October 3rd, 2020

Betty Ann McEachern, 94, of Clyde Township, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Saturday, October 3, 2020.

She was born May 8, 1926 in Port Huron to the late Carl and Bertha Schmitt. She married John M. “Jack” McEachern Jr. on October 5, 1946 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2011.

Betty was a 1944 graduate of St. Stephen High School. She retired from the State of Michigan adult probation and parole department. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and B.P.O.E. # 343. She had a passion for dance and was frequently the last to leave the dance floor. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards with friends, wintering in Zephyrhills, Florida and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Jackie (Al) Truskowski, Peggy (Robert) Cooley and Kim (Larry) Soulliere; eight grandchildren, Sean (Kim) Truskowski, Scott (Dawn) Truskowski, Christopher (Lindsay) Cooley, Brianna (Robert) Mountain, Timothy Cooley, Jeffery (Sharon) Cooley, Jonathan Soulliere and Matthew (Hope) Soulliere; fourteen great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; sisters, Marylin Armstrong and Jackie Bonney; sisters-in-law, Joyce Schmitt, Kay Schmitt and June Short; godchild, Debbie Furay; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl “Bill” Schmitt and Robert Schmitt; and a sister, Louise Spencer.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.

Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at Wadhams Creek Senior Community and Grace Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
