Dawn Helmrich-Gougeon

Dawn Marie Helmrich-Gougeon, 47, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, December 8, 2020. She is now reunited with her brother, Chris, in heaven.

She was born February 14, 1973 in Sarnia, Ontario to Wanda and the late Michael Helmrich.

Mrs. Helmrich-Gougeon worked for Blue Water Area Transit driving a bus for special needs adults. She also worked as a certified nursing assistant. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and doing nails.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Gougeon; her son, Anthony Helmrich; her mother, Wanda Helmrich; special aunts, Ruth (Mark) Kennedy and Sharon Belisle and several other aunts, uncles and cousins; her stepmom, Twilla Helmrich; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorine and Jim Gougeon; and longtime friend, Tonya Black. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Helmrich, her brother, Christopher Helmrich; and grandparents, Hubert and Marion Hyde and William and Ruth Helmrich.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
