Leatha E. “Ellie” Benner, 94, of Port Huron died Friday, March 5, 2021.
She was born August 7, 1926 in Port Huron to the late Percy and Mazie Wedge.
Leatha was employed in the housekeeping department at Mercy Hospital for 15 years before her retirement. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Diana (William) Hooper and Barbara (James) Odgers; seven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Lee Sullivan.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the comfort and safety of others.
A private family service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 12, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Leatha’s granddaughter Michelle Gamble and her husband Elmer will officiate. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
