Harley Chewning
Harley Lewis Chewning, 73, of Port Huron, died Friday, May 14, 2021.
He was born April 29, 1948 in Detroit to the late Lewis and Lucy Chewning. He married Mary C. Maloney in 1968 in Detroit.
Harley was a graduate of Cass Tech High School and served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed music, especially the Blues, and loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary; daughter, Janet (Geoffrey) Williams; grandchildren, Kevin (Kayla) Chewning, Johnathan Chewning, Nicholas (Lauren) Williams and Brandon Williams; great grandson, Wesley Chewning; brother John (Sheri) Baldwin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Duncan.
Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be recited at 3:00 p.m.
A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
