Sandra L Weichsler

Sandra Louise Weichsler, 74, of Port Huron, died Monday, May 31, 2021.

She was born August 24, 1946 in Port Huron to the late Eugene L. and Anna R. Beeler. She married Charles D. Weichsler on November 17, 1978 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2000.

Sandy was a member of the last graduating class of St. Stephen Catholic School in 1964. She was a graduate and former instructor at the Port Huron College of Cosmetology. While teaching, she decided to switch career paths and follow her passion of becoming a nurse. She obtained her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from St. Clair County Community College on January 7, 1975. She started her journey as the “building float”, working in all of the departments at Mercy Hospital in Port Huron. She then worked in the labor and delivery ward of River District Hospital and retired from Medilodge of St. Clair in 2011.

She had many hobbies including reading, crafts and watching sports. She was a great mother, and was affectionately known by many of her son’s friends as “Mom”, “Mother Weichsler” or “Mom II”.

She is survived by her son, John Weichsler; sister, Barbara Beeler; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 4, 2021 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark Madson of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Thin Blue Line of Michigan.
