Larry R Praet

Larry Raymond Praet, 74, of Lakeport died Monday August 30, 2021 after a battle with cancer. Larry died at the family lake house surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was born September 6, 1946 in Harper Woods to the late Amedee and Evelyn Praet.

Larry was a fan of the unconventional and led much of his life and career that way. From his early beginnings, he was the Founder, operator and seller of many different businesses and owned and developed real estate. He was always dreaming and exploring new ideas. Larry was inspired by art, design and architecture and always had pen and paper in hand for new ideas. His hobbies were art, candle making and spending time with his grandkids. He was an avid Tiger and Red Wing fan and never missed a game.

Larry is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Praet; daughter, Carrie (Andy) Praet Foster and granddaughter Kate of Indiana; and son, Matthew (April) Praet and grandsons, Benjamin and Max of Michigan.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.
