Gregory P. Kovach, Sr.

Gregory Paul Kovach Sr., 74, of Gold Canyon, AZ, formerly of Port Huron, died Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

He was born May 15, 1947 in Port Huron to the late James and Evelyn Kovach.

Gregory was an avid golfer and businessman. After serving his country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War, he perfected his finesse and charisma serving the community, traveling around the United States and building relationships with everyone he met along the way.

He is survived by two sons, Gregory Kovach Jr. and Brian (Julie) Kovach; grandchildren, Carissa Cameron, Ryan Kovach (Jordan Hagedon), Shauna Kovach, Brody, Emily and Annah; three great grandchildren; and brother, Patrick (Emily) Kovach. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and John Kovach.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
