Jennie R LaPine
Jennie Ray LaPine, age 84, died Friday, October 15, 2021 at McLaren Hospital with her loving husband and daughters by her side.
Jennie was born April 25, 1937 in Kentucky to the late Neuman and Mabel Oliver. Jennie enjoyed camping with her family in the summers near the shores of Lake Huron, and had a passion for reading romance novels. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. Jennie had a competitive spirit that was openly expressed while supporting her daughter’s sporting events as they were growing up. She was later blessed with her only grandson. Jennie cherished him and enjoyed going to all of his sporting events as his number one Fan. Then her great grandson was born and filled her heart with even more joy. Jennie passed peacefully knowing her family’s love for her was sealed for eternity.
She is survived by her wonderful and loving husband of 61 years, Thomas L.; daughters, Brenda (Thomas) Simpson, Becky (Rob) Bernardi and Penny Kerr (Tom Hughes); grandson, Jordan (Malia) Kerr; great grandson, Jackson Kerr; sister, Wanda (Joe) Vantroostenberghe; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Pat Shagena and Betty Newberry; and her brothers, Bob & Bill Oliver.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday October 22, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3814 Keewahdin Rd., Fort Gratiot, MI 48059.
