Gloria Kearns

Gloria Mary Kearns, 70, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday, November 7, 2021.

She was born June 28, 1951 in Port Huron to Roy and the late Ignacia Rodriguez. She married William Kearns on February 19, 1972 in St. Joseph Church.

Gloria retired as a ParaPro from the Port Huron Area School District in 2011. She loved helping people and was an active member at Our Lady of Guadalupe and currently at Holy Trinity Parish. She enjoyed shopping, reading, spending time with her friends and being by the water. She was very creative and was fond of crafting and sewing.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William L. Kearns; daughter, Marcella A. Tolentino; son, William “BJ” Kearns; grandchildren, Matea Kearns and Edwin Tolentino; father, Roy Rodriguez; siblings, Roy (Joyce) Rodriguez Jr., Isabel (Dennis) Dale, Guadalupe (Ed) Hall, Rick (Cheryl) Rodriguez, Fernando (Barb) Rodriguez and Francisco (Hisako) Rodriguez; sisters-in-law, Annette Phipps and Barbara (Chuck) Teller; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and an uncle and aunt in Mexico.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Black attire optional. Gloria loved color.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Parish, St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
