William J. Brown

William J. Brown, 81, of Port Huron, died December 20, 2011 after a short illness, in Sebring, FL where he has spent the last several winters.
He was born October 25, 1930 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where he was raised and educated. He moved to the United States after his marriage to the former Elaine Samson of Yale and has lived in Michigan for several years.
Bill retired from Polysar which he represented in the U.S. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club and a former member of Oakland Hills Country Club, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He was also a member of St. Mary Church, Port Huron.
He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine Brown, loving brother of the late Helen Margaret (Mart) and husband Louis Lucas and of Gregory Brown, his late wife Audrey and wife, Libby. Cherished uncle of Jacquie and husband Peter Embleton, David and wife Lily, Catherine and husband Bill Lutsch, Paul and wife Maria-Luisa, Barbara and husband Sean French, Joyce and husband Jeff O’Connor, Patricia, and Anne Marie and husband Steve Fielding, Noelle Lucas, Linda and her late husband Gary Power, Stephen and Tracey and husband Lindsey Joseph. Treasured great-uncle of Christina and William Embleton, Linette and Nicholas Brown, Liam and Kendra Lutsch, Pablo and Ines Brown, Conor and Ronan French, Madison O’Connor, Gregory Spina-Brown, Clara and Haydon Fielding and Christopher and Duncan Power.
A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 5, 2012 at St. Mary Church, 1505 Ballentine St., Port Huron. Rev. Fr. Thomas Lever will preside. Following the Mass a luncheon reception will take place at Black River Country Club, 3300 Country Club Drive, Port Huron. Those planning to attend the reception are requested to email Dr. Gregory Brown at: gbrown@gmail.com prior to April 30, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Church.
