Jacquelyn "Jackie" Armstrong
Jacquelyn “Jackie” Armstrong, 78, of Lakeport, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022 following a long illness.
She was born August 21, 1943 in Detroit and was a lifelong resident of the Port Huron area. She married Stephen Armstrong on September 28, 1963 in St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Jackie was a 1961 graduate of Memphis Community Schools. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, business owner and a parishioner of St. Edward Church for more than 50 years. She owned and operated the Peanut House Bar with her husband, Steve for 13 years and then Armstrong’s Lakeport Resort for the past 24 years. Jackie will be appreciated for her enterprising spirit, sharp wit and willingness to share her knowledge and many talents.
She is survived by her son, Jacque (Sharon) Armstrong of Burtchville Township; daughter, Stephanie (Joe) Helton of Fort Gratiot; daughter, Diana (George) Hubble of Ruby; grandchildren, Megan LaZare, Gabrielle (John) Armstrong Crimmins, Erin Armstrong, Hannah (Douglas) Loper, Lindsey Helton, Zachary Helton, Julia Hubble and Olivia Hubble; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve; and her parents, Zena and Adolph Bulkavic.
Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022 in St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend Lee Acervo will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery, Port Huron. A luncheon will follow at St. Edward Parish Hall.
