John L "Jack" Pettengill

John Lee “Jack” Pettengill, 74, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, March 15, 2022.

He was born May 17, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Norman and Mary Pettengill. He married Linda Halifax on December 2, 1994 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2016 after 21 years of marriage.

Jack was a 1965 graduate of Port Huron High School. He worked for many years as an accountant. He and Linda retired to Florida where he enjoyed the beach, fishing, golf and spending time with family and his lifelong friends.

He is survived by his children, John (Kim) Pettengill Jr., Jolene (Shawn) Furman, Sheri (Joe) White and David (Shelley) Halifax Jr.; and grandchildren, Payton, Nash, Jon and Casey.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.
