Edward J Letzgus

Edward John Letzgus, 79, of Marysville, died Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

He was born June 16, 1942 in Port Huron to the late Charles and Margaret Letzgus. He married Barbara McGuire on June 23, 1976 in Port Huron.

Edward graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army, 553rd Engineer Batallion in NATO and later was employed with Chrysler Corporation as a water analyst for 36 years. Edward was a member of the Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion J. Edward Mallorey Post 449. He especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara; children, Robert (Laurie) Letzgus, Cecilia (Mark) Mellendorf, Gloria Harris, Lisa Miller, Melanie Ryan and Lorie Potts; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Letzgus O.P. and Kathy Letzgus; and brother, Michael (Denise) Letzgus. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Justin Potts and Jenny Barnes; sister, Margaret Letzgus-Ebach; brother, Charles “Pat” Letzgus; and son-in-law, James Harris.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Mr. Letzgus will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.
