Cynthia Ellen Morrison, 74, of Fort Gratiot, died Friday, April 1, 2022 following a courageous battle with dementia.

She was born May 27, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Robin and Marzelle Coté. She married Charles Morrison on July 10, 1983 in Port Huron.

Cynthia was a 1965 graduate of Port Huron High School. She was employed at J.C. Penney for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed swimming in the pool with her grandchildren, camping, shopping and, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Charles; daughters, Tammy (Lawrence) DeHate and Angie (Marty) Eagen; five grandchildren, Lawrence (Kayla) DeHate, Trevor DeHate, Carra Eagen, Natalie Eagen and Noah Walsh; great granddaughter, Peyton DeHate; sister-in-law, Joan Morrison; and nephew, Tim Morrison. She was preceded in death by her sister, Constance Coté; and favorite feline friend, Oreo.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or St. Clair County Community Mental Health.
