Obituary

Mary Ann Tetreau, 87, of Port Huron, died Sunday, May 22, 2022.

She was born March 13, 1935 in Port Huron to the late David A. and Erma E. (Roelens) Wheelihan. She married Charles D. Tetreau on January 29, 1955 in the old St. Stephen Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2014.

Mary Ann was a 1953 graduate of St. Stephen High School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church, Blue Water Arie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles and V.F.W. May O’Brien Post #8465. She retired from the City of Port Huron Recreation Department in January 1995, after nearly 40 years of service.

She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, occasional casino trip and watching the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and golfing as well as watching Charles play softball. They loved traveling in their motor home and spending winters in Florida after retirement.

She is survived by three children, Charles (Julie) Tetreau, Debra (David) Scott and Thomas Tetreau; seven grandchildren, Cory Tetreau, Christina Scott, Melissa Olvera, Todd Tetreau, Zachary Tetreau, Olivia Webb and Jessica Elkins; thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles (Kathleen) Wheelihan and Harold Wheelihan; two sisters, Maxine Gwisdala and Teresa Bennett; two sisters-in-law, Joan Tetreau and Carol Lambert; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Charles Tetreau; brother, James Wheelihan; sister, Veronica Wheelihan; brothers-in-law, Joseph Gwisdala, Denis Tetreau, James (Ruth) Tetreau and Larry Lambert; and father and mother-in-law, Henry and Anna Tetreau.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.
