Diane Horr

Diane Delee ”Dee” Horr, 84, of Fort Gratiot, the social butterfly of Lake Huron Woods died Saturday, June 11, 2022.

She was born August 1, 1937 in Canton, OH to the late Edwin and Elaine Schoenleb. She married Edward D. Horr on July 18, 1959. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2002 after 42 years of marriage.

Diane was a longtime member of the P.E.O. women’s organization and was a past state president. She also belonged to the Delta Delta Delta sorority at Ohio State University. She loved crafts, baking, walking, aerobics, traveling and going to the beach. She was a loyal supporter of the Toledo Zoo.

She is survived by two sons, Doug (Diane) Horr and David (Amy) Horr; brother, E. Christian (JoAnn) Schoenleb; grandmother to 11 grandchildren, Nicole (Matt), Angela, Kayla, Danielle, Andrew, Christopher, Nick (Sara), Frank, Adam (Rachel), Christian and Joe; three great grandchildren William, Rosie, and Garrett; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, June 25, 2022 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Cottey College- Diane D. Horr Endowment Scholarship.
