Markus J "Mark" Cox

Markus Jefferson “Mark” Cox, 46, of Yale, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 after a three-year battle with cancer.

He was born February 19, 1976 in Port Huron to the late Carlie and Debbie Cox. He married Jeni L. Boyd on June 20, 2009 in Port Huron.

Mark was very involved in softball, both playing on the men’s league and coaching co-ed softball with his wife Jeni. He was active in his kids’ everyday life and any activities the boys were involved in. He enjoyed attending sporting events, but most of all just loved being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jeni; his children, Troy Badgerow, Cody Badgerow, Carlie Cox, Markus Cox and Hannah Badgerow; brothers, William (Jamie) Cox, David Cox and Robert Moltz; step-sister, Sarah Barnes; foster brother, Adam (Jackie) Trousdale; sisters-in-law, Sarah Alexander and Leah Northrop; nieces, Alya Cox, Hadley Alexander and Mikala Kish; nephews, Randy Cox, Austin Cox and Brantley Alexander; great niece, Londyn; father and mother-in-law, Matthew and Kelly Northrop; uncle, Nathan Wilkerson and aunt, Tammy Tribble who helped raise him; foster parents, Peter and Paula Schneider; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, including close cousin, Elizabeth Spears.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlie and Helen Cox and John and Pearl Gray; foster dad, James Trousdale Sr.; and foster brother and best friend, James Trousdale Jr.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Reverend Michael Wallace Seals and The Reverend Ernest Werth-Toward will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Cox, Dave Cox, Adam Trousdale, Kris Gray, Peter Clark, Joey Hunsberger, Cody Badgerow, Troy Badgerow, Markus Cox and Carlie Cox.
