Stacie M Steinborn Frabis

November 29th, 1954 to July 30th, 2022

Stacie Marion Steinborn Frabis left her family and loved ones on Saturday, July 30, 2022, after a short, tough battle with cancer. She was 67 years old.

Stacie was in one of the final groups at Port Huron Catholic but graduated from Port Huron Northern High School. Stacie worked for many years in the family businesses, Jones Monument Company and Crescent Corporation in sales, customer service, bookkeeping, and inventory. Stacie loved working with numbers and excelled at the accounting side of the business. Stacie also worked at All Star Vending where she operated a delivery van throughout the thumb area, winning over customers with her warm, outgoing personality. Stacie loved laughing, dancing and socializing.

She retired in 2010 and devoted her free time to the activities she loved most - bowling, euchre, gardening and golf. Her bowling and euchre teams were frequent winners in local leagues. She became a very good amateur golfer, competing in tournaments around Michigan. Stacie also developed a strong network of friends through these activities and participated in many social gatherings around Port Huron. Recharge time was spent walking the shoreline of Lake Huron where she always found the best glass.

An animal advocate, Stacie was drawn to dogs. She owned and loved dachshunds the most, preceded in death by her longtime companion, Tessie.

Her love of golf was so great that she decided to buy property in Florida so that she could play year-round. She chose a location by Fort Myers, near other golfers from Port Huron with whom she played during the summer. She opened her winter home to friends and family and we were all able to enjoy a break from the Michigan winter.

Stacie is survived by her son, Michael; brothers, Mark (Daniela), Paul (Lisa) and John (Melissa); sisters, JoAnn (Chris Edick) and Sally; her Aunt Ducky and Ted Harvey; as well as nieces, a nephew and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Beth; and both her parents, Jack and Pauline.

Stacie was inexpressibly grateful for the steadfast love of friends and family members who buoyed her spirits throughout her illness. Your generosity and kindness are humbling. We are eternally thankful for each of you and wish to acknowledge Cathy, Sandy and Libby, who held the family’s hands as much as Stacie’s during her final days. Also, her care givers, Denatta and Sharon helped us all through the trying experience.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. Charles Schoor Post #796 on Pine Grove or to the American Cancer Society.
