Marlene V Knupp-Nichols

August 1st, 1948 to September 1st, 2022

Marlene Virginia Knupp-Nichols, 74, of Port Huron, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

She was born August 1, 1948 in Port Huron to the late Frank and Virginia Gragowski. She married Gary M. Knupp on July 27, 1968. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2009. She married Gary W. Nichols on May 30, 2011.

Marlene was a loving wife and mother, an amazing grandma, a wonderful sister, aunt, great aunt and a loyal, loving friend. Marlene loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed their many activities. She always put others needs first.

Marlene worked as a deaf interpreter for the Port Huron Area School District, working at Indian Woods and retiring from Thomas Edison Elementary School. She was an avid scrapbooker and loved shopping, camping, cooking, boating and going to card club. She enjoyed attending the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Gary W. Nichols; four children, David Knupp, Kristine Knupp, Matthew (Jody) Nichols and Mark (Bobbi Jo) Nichols; six grandchildren, Olivia and Owen Knupp and Dylan, Jared, Corbin and Leanna Nichols; two brothers, John (Alene) Gragowski and Tom (Susan) Gragowski; and sister, Julie (Ken) Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, September 5, 2022 in the Port Huron Church of Christ, 756 17th Street, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Lamar Black will officiate. Please wear a mask for the comfort and safety of others.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute or the Port Huron Church of Christ.
