Obituary

Leonardo Felipe “Lenny” Coronado, 71, of Port Huron, died Sunday, September 4, 2022.

He was born May 3, 1951 in Port Huron to the late Maria and Gabriel Coronado Sr.

Lenny graduated from Port Huron High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his return from the service, he worked at Prestolite Wire LLC before attending the police academy. He was hired by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department and worked there for 28 years until his retirement. Lenny was a loving father, son, grandfather, and friend. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to help others, and he knew how to make everyone feel special.

He is survived by his children, Diana (Patrick) Castillo, Leonardo (Robert) Coronado II, Reymundo Coronado and Marcos Coronado; grandchildren, Grace and Isaac Castillo; siblings, Gabriel Coronado Jr., Celia “Sadie” Sanchez, Nora (Fred) Castillo and Gilda (Antonio) Castillo; good friend and neighbor, Chuck Wilcox; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodolfo Coronado.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force. Stories, memories and refreshments will then be shared at a picnic from 12-3:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3702, 2645 Howard Street, Port Huron.
