Warren Dale Schattler, 75, of Port Huron, died Monday, September 19, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 22, 1947 in Yale to the late Laurence and Alice Schattler. He married Patricia Bailey on August 20, 1966 in Port Huron.
Warren graduated from Yale High School, St. Clair County Community College and the University of Michigan. He was a teacher with the Port Huron Area School District and retired in 2004 after 35 years of service at Chippewa Intermediate and Port Huron High School.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia; children, Michelle (Wayne) Clingenpeel, Heather (William) Vavrina and Aaron Schattler (Kristi Kita); grandchildren, Joshua Warren Clingenpeel, Ryan Patrick Clingenpeel, Connor William Vavrina and Jack Bailey Vavrina; brother-in-law, Jerry (Sharon) Bailey; sisters-in-law, Kate Humphries, Debbie Williams (Dave Pauly) and Carol Schattler; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Schattler; niece Sandy Schattler; and father and mother-in-law, Donald and Frances Bailey.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The family and Pastor Roxie Davis of First Presbyterian Church will have a short tribute for Warren at both 2 and 5 p.m. Friends are welcome to attend either.
The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Black Swamp Bird Observatory or the Arbor Day Foundation.
