Gertrude "Trudie" Lewandowski

Port Huron—Gertrude “Trudie” Lewandowski, 89, of Port Huron died January 10, 2012 in Port Huron Hospital.
She was born July 19, 1922 in Port Huron. She married Herbert C. Lewandowski on August 24, 1941 in Port Huron. He died November 25, 2007.
Gertrude was a cook and waitress. She was a member of the R.L.D.S. Church where she bowled on the women's bowling league and was a volunteer Grandma. She was also a member of the Blue Star Mothers.
She is survived by her son Ronald Lewandowski; daughters Karolyn (Dale) Ashton and Jane (Richard) Brooks; grandchildren Cindy (Billy) Evans, Leo (Nancy) Lewandowski, Kandy Lewandowski (Brad), Patty (Danny) Hodges, Michael (Jen) Ashton, Adam Falk, Michael (Erica) Brooks, Heath Brooks; seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband and two infant daughters.
Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, January 13, 2012 in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. The Rev. Harley Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot.
Visiting will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Marysville R.L.D.S. Church.
