Charles E Scandalito

Charles Edwin Scandalito, 85, of Port Huron, died Friday, December 2, 2022.

He was born July 6, 1937 in St. Clair to the late Frank and Marion Scandalito. He married June Y. Rock on August 1, 1959 in Port Huron.

Charles was a 1955 graduate of Port Huron High School. He served in the U.S. Army, was a Vietnam Veteran, and retired a Colonel after 36 years of service. He was an avid photographer, history enthusiast and participated in Civil War and WWII reenactments. He served as Battalion Commander for the Michigan Volunteer Defense Force and was twice Commander of the Michigan National Guard, Port Huron Armory 125th Infantry.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June; two sons, Scott (Kim) and Steven (Stephanie) Scandalito; grandchildren, Hillary, Meghan, Anthony and Merissa; and brothers, Donald and David. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Ayden; sister, Helen; and brother, Fred.

Private family services will be held.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
