George N Elliott

George Nathan Elliott, 94, of Kimball Township, died Saturday, January 14, 2023.

He was born February 6, 1928 in Ypsilanti to the late Lawrence and Frances Elliott. He married Jane A. Jardine on June 26, 1948 in Harbor Springs.

George worked for Thompson Plastering, Overhead Door Company and then for Northgate Ford where he delivered cars and worked on special projects for Tom Woods. He enjoyed doing carpentry for people, photography, taking long walks and bringing his wife wild flowers. He also loved fishing and hunting near Munising.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Jane; five children, Mary Donna (Bob) Ryan, Rick (Pamela) Elliott, Carrie Woodard, Wendy (Gary) McDaid and Kathryn Shirts; 12 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons-in-law, Larry Shirts and Mearl Woodard; and siblings, Bob, Ray, Bill, Dick and twin infant brother, Gerald.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January, 20, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.

A family service will be held in Harbor Springs at a later date.
