Wayne James Rucker, 59, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
He was born March 21, 1963 in St. Clair to the late Arnold and Wilma Rucker.
Wayne graduated from Port Huron High School in 1982 and then served in the United States Air Force in the security working-dog team. He was employed as a security guard with DTE and then at Lake Huron Medical Center for 31 years. Wayne enjoyed playing video games, building models, collecting swords and going to Renaissance Festivals. He loved riding his trike around town and will be remembered for his ability to make people laugh.
He is survived by his sister, Wanda (Jim) Farquhar; half-siblings, Mary Cecelia, A.J., Agnes, Rita, Bernie and Becky; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and special dog, Gretta. He was preceded in death by his great aunt, Mae Brown; a close cousins, Lawrence Stark and Lorraine Farquhar.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.. Pastor Jessica Totty of #C4Yourselfchurch will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Cemetery, Columbarium, Port Huron.
