Eileen A Lerash
Eileen A. Lerash, 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan.
She was born November 26, 1937 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Raymond and Christine (Stockoski) Leske. She married Edward Lerash on October 26, 1957 at St. Florian Catholic Church. Edward passed away on August 16, 2009.
Eileen graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts at Macomb Community College. She was employed at Warren Fitzgerald Schools for 25 years, first serving school lunches at Westview Elementary, second as a custodian at Fitzgerald High School, and third as the Head Stock Coordinator at Fitzgerald High School.
Eileen loved being with her family, gardening, canning, traveling, and cooking wonderful meals for the holidays and birthday dinners.
She is the loving mother of Kenneth (Janet Delewsky) Lerash and Karen (Michael) Gamalski; proud grandma of Lynne (Michael) DeHondt, Pamela Lerash and Elaine (Brad) Chiasson; also, very proud great-grandma of Gavin and Garrett DeHondt and Ford Back. Eileen was like a grandmother to Richard Delewsky (Ivan Anibal), Jerome (Brittany Rodriguez) Delewsky, Mark (Carrie Zabicki) Delewsky, Matthew (Nicole) Delewsky, and Michelle Delewsky (Josh Brinker); and great-grandma to Hailey, Jerome Jr., Abigail, Isabella, Davy, Kayden and Josh.
Eileen was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Leske; sister and brother-in-law Joanne (Joseph) Sokal; and parents Christine Wolfe and Raymond Leske.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
