Janice Horbes

Janice Kay Horbes, 67, of Marysville, went to be with her Lord and Army of Angels in the early hours of Saturday, May 20, 2023. She fought the horrible disease of cancer for six years like a warrior with no complaints.

She was born August 4, 1955 to the late John “Top” and Edith Horbes.

Janice graduated from Port Huron High School and was a proud Big Red. She worked her entire career at AAA where she developed lifelong friendships with many of her coworkers. She loved to hang out at the Zebra Bar and Lynwood Bar where she also made amazing friendships that lasted until the very end. Janice had an amazing heart and would do anything for anyone, and often did. She will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

She is survived by her brother, Ronald (Joan) Horbes; sister and best friend, Sharon (Robert) Gibson; niece, Christine (Jon) Peters; nephew, Stephen Horbes; niece, Shannon Gibson; great nephews, Justin and Jeremy Horbes and Jonathan and Ryan Peters; and great nieces, Adelle Gibson and Tessa Peters. She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Johnny; nephew, Michael Gibson; Ex-husband Roger Humphrey, and her best friend, Robert “Bake” Baker.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in Holy Trinity Parish St. Stephen Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Bradley Forintos will officiate.
